Sue's Blog

Tuesday, 10/29/13 - What an awesome day this is to be alive again!

It's been five years since I started a gluten free diet.  Gosh it seems like much longer ago that I started this journey! My health had actually begun to decline for over twelve years too starting with severe migraines before someone finally figured what the heck was wrong with me and it all had to do with what I was eating!  Go figure!

I've been sittin here remembering back to 2005 when I was first diagnoised (from blood work food allergy testing) with gluten intolerance and was in denial for over two years thinking I could eat just a little gluten/wheat and it won't kill me!  Boy was I wrong!  I was also on thyroid medication for over 32 years and several other medications including Zoloft and Xanax. I had what they call Hysimotos where the thyroid goes up and down like a yo yo!   I was depressed and had panic attacks..  well quite frankly I was a mess!

My health continued to decline for the next two years until the point of early onset Dementia or at least it felt like it!  I had foggy brain and my memory was fading and I could barely drive any where by myself!  I was having to leave sticky notes all over the house to remember things and my son had to drive me most places.

Then the severe joint pain set in after many months of debilitating migraines where I was in bed for days.   The pain was all over my body and it hurt to be touched! Some call this Fibromyalgia!  I was taking showers every 30 minutes to get relief from the pain.  I wouldn't go to the doctor because I knew they'd put me on all sorts of drugs for these so called 'diseases.'    They probably would have said I was in early stages of dementia too!  No way!  I was only 55!  But did look and feel over 80!  I had Irritable Bowel syndrome and I was starting to have severe skin issues like ezema and/or psorisis. My hair was also falling out.  My immune system was shot!

When my holistic doctor told my husband, "Sue is going to die if she doesn't comply with a gluten free diet",  that really got my attention fast.

It wasn't easy at first and took time to adjust to a new lifestyle.  I started researching products, recipes, etc., and slowly the pain started to subside and I began to get memory back.   I weened off all medications including the thyroid meds!  My holistic doctor put me on a supplement called GTA Forte (from Biotic Research) for my thyroid and I've been taking it ever since.  I take one a day now and buy it from PureFormulas

Three years ago I came across a blog talk radio program and heard Dr. Thomas O'Bryan speaking on Celiac disease and gluten intolerance.  About 14 months ago I started taking Dr. O'Bryan's Gluten Sensitivity Pack supplements.  He has put six different nutrients together in a daily pack and it only cost about $78.00.  If all six of these supplements were purchased in seperate bottles I'm sure they would be over $185.00.  I've been feeling even better since being on his supplements with specific nutritents designed to heal the gut.   I've also listened to his research DVD's to learn more about Celiac and gluten sensitivities.

For information on Dr. O'Bryan, his resources, supplements, info on testing, visit -

Thank's again to Dr. Nichole Hewitt in Colorado, Dr. Roy Mullins in Austin and Dr. Thomas O'Bryan in Michigan for giving me my life back!
